Island Girl Hawaii Aloha Coast

I picked this up for myself when I went to Saipan back in February with friends. This brand is based in Hawaii, but is sold in all pacific American territories, as well as in one store on the Las Vegas strip! The chain that mainly sells this are ABC Stores, a touristy type place.  If you click on the link, you can see some if their selection (not all however, the store had a much larger selection) and you can place online orders!  They ship to some other countries too.

They do seem to copy off other companies I noticed-they made a lesser quality line of the NYX cream glitter palettes, and this bottle is nearly identical to a China Glaze bottle, all they did was put their design on the cap.  They are cheap though.

This is bright neon pink with a pearly purple duochrome shimmer, not just a flat neon. That's what really made me fall in love with it! My camera does this color no justice, it doesn't show how neon (or pink!) it really is. My camera makes it look orange, and the neon more muted.

It is pretty sheer, this is three coats and you can still see VNL, so if you're like me and don't care for that, use an opaque base coat. Also, it dries super fast and matte like regular neons though, so if matte isn't your thing, make sure you have your topcoat.

Beauty Concepts Peach Shimmer

I got this polish at Dollar Tree back in March. It was nameless, so I named it.  It's an iridescent shimmer with a super sheer peachy-pink jelly base in a cute rose shaped bottle.  It sounds really pretty, but I learned a lesson, this is a TOPCOAT only.  The peachy tones in it made my nails look disgustingly yellow (I swear they are NOT that color, nor do they have dirt under them) and I'll layer it over white or another polish from now on.  I'm almost too embarrassed to post this picture, but I have to show what this looks like on it's own.

The label under the bottle says: Distributed by Greenbrier International Inc., Chesapeake, Va. 23320.  It does not say the brand name.
Click to enlarge second picture.  If you do get this, trust me, layer it-it would probably look great over white, light pink or light peach. I'm going to have to try that, I'm sure it will be *much* better!

OPI Planks a lot and Funky Fingers Kenyan Sunset

I've been really getting into the gradient looks, using the make up sponge method. Who knew how easy it was! At first I was going to do a Red version, but at the last second I went with purple, my good ole stand by color;)

I used Planks a lot by OPI that came out in the Pirates of The Caribbean: Stranger Tides collection. Renee got me the mini set for Christmas last year and of course I was very happy! And may I add she bought in Japan, so I know that was not cheap. Any one who's been to Japan knows that OPI, ESSIE, and other American brands cost an arm, leg and first born child..(not in that order!) Then to finish the look, I sponged on Funky Fingers in Kenyan Sunset on the tips. You can't tell from the bottle but its a holo! A gorgeous shimmery HOLO! I love when that happens, you get a polish that looks pretty but then you paint it on, and kaboom..holo goodness;)

I want to try this gradient look in different colors, as it was super easy! But for now I must be going, work awaits!

Thanks to Scrangie and Painting rainbows for the images!

Guys just a reminder!
Giveaways are still underway-

Swap with Lilwen from MUT Nail Polish

Just a short one today.  I did a little swap with Lilwen from Makeup Talk a few months ago, (we're in the middle of another one now, yay!) and while going through my Flickr I came across this picture and realized I forgot to post the polishes I got in it.

Swap with Lilwen from MUT 2 Nail Polish by KitaRei
She sent me three of her favorites, Kiko Frozen Nail Laquer in Iced Black 06, Kiko Nail Laquer Azzurro Ceruleo 295, and Essence Colour & Go Date With The Night 45. Erika said she heard Essence Date With The Night is a good dupe for Chanel Haute Chocolate-awesome!  I specially requested Kiko as I heard their cosmetics were amazing.  Swatches to come :)

illamasqua phallic (oh what a name, haha)

I bought this a while back, January I believe and I can not believe I haven't swatched it yet! Well then again I can because I have about  a million nail polishes.

I was going for a nebular sky look, did I achieve it? What I did was basically this:
1. Coat of Phallic 2x (hehe)
2. Coat of Inglot flakie (blue version)
3. Coat of fairy dust by China Glaze ( are you shocked!)

I think I came pretty close!! What do you guys think? But before I got, please stop by at both giveaways.

Thanks guys, you rock!

OPI DS Vintage

This was a very lucky Target find back in January, and is from the original DS line. Does Target normally carry this line? It was the only one there, and I grabbed it quick!
I just LOVE OPI's DS line, I can't get enough!  I'm a big holo fan, so it's not a huge surprise.  I have one more in this line that Julie gave me a while back, I need to get around to posting it sometime soon.

DS Vintage is a gorgeous coral-pink with holo glitter, though I've also seen it described as a salmon pink and peach.  This is two coats, and the formula was great.  Look how it sparkles in the light, rainbows on your nails!  ::love::

Zoya Zuza

This my recent zoya polish, I actually got it through the Share the Love program that Zoya has introduced in March 2012. The name of the color is Zuza, and Zoya describes it as:

"Deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish. A beachy, colorful, foil-like shade with the perfect balance between blue and green."
I couldn't agree more! It's such a stunning and perfect color for the summer! But I couldn't stop myself there, you guys know me, and you know that I always have to put something on top. And that I did! I topped it with Butter London's "Knackered" a gorgeous shimmery blue with hints of purple and green.

Have I told you guys how much I love Zoya, well if I haven't.. I LOVE ZOYA! But I must go now, back to work!
If you guys still haven't entered, we have two giveaways going on!

Finally!

Well the day has finally come, I own a Chanel polish. And the best part it was a gift!

Horrible picture I know, but this polish is a nightmare to photograph! Here is a better picture of it:
I think its time to invest in a new camera!

Now I still want to own Peridot, that hasn't changed at all, but knowing that I own a Chanel makes me feel so ooolala! Okay, corniness aside, I love this color!

PS- Don't forget about our giveaway!

Sally Hansen Magnetic polish in red-y response and giveaway at All Glitzed Up!

Before I start this post I have to say... It's my birthday today!!

Guys please check out  Our giveaway on All glitzed up! There are two prizes, and is going on now.  Thanks a bunch!

I am so glad I have finally got to experience the magic that is magnetic Polish. Ive always wanted to buy one, but i found the price to be a little to steep for me. Well the other day, in Walgreen's, I spotted the new magnetics from Sally Hansen! 7.99$ Not cheap but not 15-20$ price range they have been. I of course got the red, and the second I got home whipped it out (out of the gutter dirty minds you!) I don't have my beloved Canon g11, so I had to use my cell, but thankfully the sun was on my side today and I got a nice picture of it.

It did take a little bit to get used to as I kept getting to close to the nail with the magnet, and had to start over, but once I got it, I knew I had to go back and get more colors!
Please mind the cuticles, I need to have them snipped..
Pros- Very easy once you get the hang of it, only needs 2 coats.

Cons- Dry time is slow, even with Seche vite.
Wish they had more colors.
Removal I have heard is quite the nightmare!

Overall I love this polish and will be getting more from the collection! I love the blue and steel colored ones.
