A loved combo comes back!

I think  Nfu Oh 51 is without a doubt one of the most gorgeous polish colors I have ever seen, but I dont use it often because I don't want to get sick of it!

I love these polish that Renee bought me when she visited Saipan a few months back, it's this gorgeous magenta/dark pink, it also is the perfect base color for flakies!  As seen below:

Breathtaking isnt it? Modest? Me? Never!

Of course to finish it, a nice coat of Seche. Which is getting very low, and I am kicking myself for not buying another bottle when Renee found it for cheap. But off for me now!

Hello Friends!!! Don't Forget 500 Followers Giveaway!

Hello! Again, sorry for the hiatus. I just had my acrylic nails taken off (and will NOT be using them again for a while, I just couldn't help myself with the engagement ring!!) and my nails are healing, and ready to be painted beautiful again :) For the last week and change, my nails have been growing out and looked disastrous. Therefore I didn't see it necessary to blog the ickiness that acrylics created. Having them removed was an extremely painful procedure, too! Ouch!! I thought they'd pull my nails right off with them. Luckily, that was not the case.

Moving forward, we are just 75 followers shy of our 500 followers Halfway There mini-giveaway. To refresh your memory, this giveaway is a celebration that we've made it half-way to a thousand. And we strive to keep our followers happy and coming back for more!

Once we reach that 500 mark, it will also launch our 1000 followers MEGA giveaway, which will entail many awesome polishes from 3 of our writers. Myself, Erika, and Renee - which means you will also win a prize with polishes from Japan exclusively!!! We've been prepping for this one for a while now, and are so excited to be able to show you (very soon!) whats in store for that giveaway.

More polish soon, promise :-)

My favorite RED - What's Yours?

Hands down, Ulta Professional - Revved Up Red. I bought this (in Ulta...no way!) for .99 during the after the holidays mark-downs.

I have about a dozen bright blood reds, but this one takes the cake! 2 coats for opaque, and it's super shiny without a top coat, it dries fast, and doesn't stain with removal. The color is so bright and pretty! A true definition of red.

Which red is your favorite?

Blue Nail Polish + Blue Eyes + Nfu Oh =

photo op! :)

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been MIA again. This week, I ended up breaking out in contact dermatitis from chopping onions ...apparently, I'm allergic to touch, but not ingestion thank god... and before I knew it, (warning: TMI ahead) my entire BODY was covered in a rash. It's still healing, but I managed to take some photos of my newest mani without any evidence of the rash...And yes, I photoshopped the hell out of that eye photograph, around my eyes to hide the wrinkles. Hey, I'm going to be 30 in a few months...and this girl needs better concealer. I also had on last night's mascara which I clearly failed to wash off.

the swatches are Nfu Oh GS 05 over China Glaze Shower Together...

Last a close up of amazingness in a bottle!

I also swatched (Yes...AGAIN!) - pre rash - Clarins 230 on top of a beautiful navy blue by Orly, called Star Of Bombay. It was on sale at Sally's this week along with a few other colors for only $1.99. I really love this photo because it catches the brilliance of the swatch from a few angles, so you can see the green and the red.

Unicorn Pee Over Barry M Indigo And My New Nfu Oh

I've swatched the crap out of Unicorn Pee since I received it from a super amazing RAOK friend....I've swatched it over lavender, over hot pink, over burgundy, black, etc. And now you can see it over a deep indigo from one of my favorites out there. Barry M. Gah...Clarins 230 never ceases to amaze me. I just stare at my nails all day when I have it on which can be rather distracting...but ah, whatever :)

Also, below that, I have swatched my newest Nfu Oh #48 - a really pretty and unique sheer pink flaky polish. It's different than most of the other Nfu Flakies because it has shimmer in it, too. I swatched it over a bright pink by OPI. See below.

Oh and before I forget - keep your eyes peeled Tuesday for a sneak peek of what first prize has to offer in our 150 followers giveaway! Oh yes, that's right! We decided to do a first and second prize. This is going to be a good one!! Don't forget to be ahead of the game. Mosey on down to our pre-entry page and register now. We're almost there!

Mail Days Make Bad Days Better

I really am having an awful/horrendous/wretched/etc...day. It's that bad lol.
But I just arrived home to a bin full of packages. 4 to be exact. I really got some goodies - is that TWO Elle's Spells you see? Yes it is! And one of them is for my dearie, Erika. (it's a surprise til she sees this post lol)

I had my second exchange through makeupalley.com, It was a breeze to arrange, and the sweetheart I had the pleasure to swap with sent me two lovely extras that I've never heard of! They're fabulous glitters and I can't wait to swatch them. I don't think they're from the US. I wonder where she got them!

And, to brighten my day even farther, my new friend from the nails forum at purseforum.com has informed me that I am getting a "RAOK" from a member there! I never got a RAOK before! (that's random act of kindness) I have NO idea who it's coming from, and I don't know what it's going to be. Needless to say, I am giddy with excitement!

Lastly, please excuse my lack of swatching lately, I really am just trying to give my cuticles a breather. Expect plenty more soonAdd Image
Here is some eye candy of my new polishes.

Sunday Manicures With The Ladies (Julie)

I brought my big old Caboodles full of polish (& then some) over to mom's today so we could do nails. Myself, my sister-in-law Tammy, and mom.

Tammy is a big Nfu-oh fan, mainly the flakies - so she used 2 coats of 056 on top of a pretty sparkly green by Confetti.

Mom likes pink, always has! So we did Razzle by OPI - and blinged out her ringfingers with Nfu-oh GS 04

And last, I am really on a red kick - so used my favorite Ulta red, and used OPI Shatter on my ringfinger, and a little jewel to top it off.

Hooker Red French Manicure For A Party In NYC Tonight! (Julie)

I just felt it was appropriate- it's been a while since I glammed up. Today, in the mail, came my order from fabuloustreet.com for NFU oh GS14 which is almost always sold out! I had already done my nails a nice candy-apple hooker red (Ulta professional - I call it my hooker red because I can never remember the name of it!) for tonight's events, and I *really* wanted to use the new Nfu Oh, so I got a little innovative, and broke out my french mani strips and voila! Hooker red/sparkly french manicure was born! And NOW i'm ready to go out :)

Oh and pleeease don't forget to sign up for our giveaway! 9 days left!!! See older posts for details.

***This look was inspired by Chloe's Nails -an incredibly talented artist (who I can see I share a lot of creative visions with!) She does so many glitter-tastic manis, and french tips, and her photos are so beautiful! Please do check out her blog if you're not already a subscriber!

Beauty In A Bottle: NFU OH (Julie)

I just had a great weekend with 2 of my nail polish ladies - we painted nails, we pigged out, we watched tv, then painted our nails again.

Saturday in the mail, my 2 new NFU OH Nail Lacquers showed up. 052 and 059. Part of the flakeys collection. I buy mine from fabuloustreet.com. She is based in the USA and offers free shipping. They're $12.50 and well worth the price.

I took a few photos to display these magnificent colors. And there's so many! I am lucky enough to own 3.

Here is 52 and 59 (left to right, 56, 52)

I also participated in my very first (secret cupid valentine's day) nail polish exchange arranged on purseblog.com, and I had a great experience, the person who was to buy for me bought me NFU Oh! This is SUCH a beautiful swatch. I have not used it yet because I have a particular look in mind that requires I use a swatch I don't have yet. So for now enjoy some bottle eye candy.

I also purchased the Deborah Lippmann "All That Jazz" collection on Friday. I know it's a little late, but it was the last one left and I really thought $40 for 3 of her polishes was well worth the buy. The real highlight in this set is Lady Sings The Blues. It really sets itself aside from all the other glitters because it's in a deep navy jelly base. It's probably my favorite polish for the moment. Will swatch it soon. My nails are in terrible shape right now so as you can see I haven't been going swatch crazy. They all broke and I need to fix them up.

Happy Superbowl Sunday.
